Seoul is a city known for fashion, food, and beautiful people. It’s also well-known for its bustling nightlife and lively music scene. While K-Pop has always been the biggest part of South Korea’s music industry, DJ Soda is definitely working her magic to bring the music of the club scene to the forefront.
Who is DJ Soda?
Her real name is Hwang So-Hee. According to HypeBae, she’s been dubbed “the hottest female artist of today’s Korean club scene”. With so many tours – both past and future – in her portfolio, it certainly seems that she’s living up to that reputation. Her 2.4 million Instagram followers would probably agree with that, too.
In her interview with HypeBae, she proclaims her early love for hip-hop, stating it as the genre that always gets her in a good mood. That’s actually what got her into DJing in the first place. Hashtag Legend also reveals that she had early training to be an actress and singer, but decided to pursue her passion for music in 2014. When she started learning how to be a DJ, she learned it the old-school way – with vinyl records. She has developed her record collection and style over the years, but her skill is undeniable. She can cut records flawlessly and switch genres easy as pie.
We’re guessing her charm isn’t just in her talent as a DJ. She’s nothing short of gorgeous, as well. With her platinum blonde hair and amazing fashion, it’s hard to take your eyes off her. Her street style fashion is very obviously hip-hop inspired, something she calls the “Jordan culture” in her HypeBae interview. Wearing her Jordan’s, she says, makes her feel like the queen of hip-hop.
If that wasn’t enough to make you fall head over heels, then maybe this will: DJ Soda loves her fans! She told HypeBae that she has rejected offers to advertise on her social media accounts because she doesn’t want to exploit her fans. She also loves to post her travels, showing herself in traditional attire and eating local food.
